Lately I’ve been fascinated by the embrace of patriotic color schemes in the latest and greatest from the design world.  So we put together this little ditty to help you envision how you might use it in your home.  Borrowing accessories from some of our favorite retailers we’ve created some alternative looks for you. FALL GEMS

This time of year my inbox is stuffed with emails chockful of new offerings from the design community. I can nver resist opening these for fear of missing out on a real gem. These are two of my favorites from Restoration Hardware. And of course, I like to think they would look spectacular with a custom-sized unique sisal or seagrass rug from www.theperfectrug.com.  Afterall, who wants a standard grass rug when you can get something special?

Color Code: Patriotic

Red, white and blue…and seagrass! With the political conventions squarely behind us, let’s take a look at the comfortable rooms from which we may have tuned in. To they reflect the times? I detect a note of cultural relevance in the red sideboard and the blue and white sofa and I find it lovely.  Even more lovely is the perfect foil the seagrass rug provides

Seeing Double

So good…two areas are anchored by matching rugs…one smaller and one larger.  This divides the space into separate areas but keeps your eye flowing over the entire space.  If one rug were much different in appearance than the other, the room wouldn’t have the same feel.
